Tooth #6

Today Sammie woke up, ran into our room and said, "Guess who lost a tooth last night??" "Look, another WINDOW in my mouth!" Sure enough, she has two holes on each side of her bottom front teeth. She said it happened in the night and she woke up, felt a hole and didn't know where her tooth was. She said she looked in her bed and couldn't find the tooth anywhere! I went with her to look and there it was on the floor, right next to her bed. It literally fell out of her mouth in the middle of the night and landed on the floor. She didn't want to put it out because she wants to take it to Las Vegas and show Grandma and Grandpa. Not sure what to do about that one.. Do we take the tooth with us when we go to Las Vegas?? Or leave a note for the tooth fairy not to take the tooth? Maybe the tooth fairy should still visit and take the tooth??? Ahhhhh... what to do??

Tooth # 5

Sammie just lost tooth #5 today. It had been loose for a few days and she kept poking it with her tongue, as well as begging her Kindergarten teacher to pull it out. Finally today, she woke up, went downstairs and poked at it yet again and out it came! She came running into our room and said "A window, I have a window in my mouth, what a great day for a window!" She is so funny.

She wrote a letter to the tooth fairy in the notebook I made for her. I made up the idea when she lost her first tooth so we would have a record of it so i could scrapbook it later. I have been writing the notes for her until now, she wanted to do it herself. ( Translation: "Dear Alyssa, I am in Kindergarten. I love you a lot. I left food for you. This is my 5th tooth. Love, Sammie"( I helped with the spelling) A little bit of background information that you must know is that she named the tooth fairy Alyssa last year.
Well, tonight she looked at me and said, "Do YOU put on a costume and dress up as the tooth fairy?" I said "What do you mean?... I can't fit through the window and I can't fly, you silly!" and she said "Oh."
WHEW!!!
That was a close one.

She decided to leave the tooth fairy a little snack tonight which consisted of an orange, a few pretzel sticks and a piece of banana. YUM!
Here are a few more "Sammie-isms" as I call them..
We went to Disneyland on Monday and she really likes to "ride" Captain EO. I haven't seen it since it has been back as a tribute but she has gone 2 times with daddy and really likes it. ( The seats move and vibrate which is pretty cool) Well, anyway, she pointed to the Captain EO poster with Michael Jackson in the white leather studded suit and curly signature hair and said, "She has a nice outfit". I said, "That is a boy, his name is Michael Jackson." To which she replied, "Well, SHE has a high voice". Yep, she does!! Ahhhhh that kid!!!

We had a great Disney day, nice weather, not crowded, just the way i like it. I had promised Sammie an ice cream when we left so we stopped to get one and she said to me, "Mom, I want a "hunormous" one. Yes, HU-NOR-MOUS! That's a cross between Humongous and Enormous... and here it is!
Yes, this is quite the hunormous ice cream cone!

How Could I NOT??

Yes, Gymboree and I have a love-hate relationship. I had a coupon and just went to "look" and came across this little number for a certain cowgirl I know, and next thing I knew, it was coming home with me. The picture doesn't do it justice.. those boots, and hat are completely covered in sparkly GLITTER. I took it home and showed it to Sammie and her response was "WOW, I am crazy for that mom! I LOVE it and can't wait to wear it." I love it too and can't wait to take some pictures of her riding Joey in that outfit! :)

Here are some recent scrappy pages I made at home in honor of National Scrapbook Day!

The new challenge is up at Scrap It Forward! It is a fun one and only 1 week long so hurry and check it out so you can play along! :)

Sharing my computer

Yes, I came downstairs recently to find that I couldn't use my computer because I had to wait my turn. It's okay though because if you notice in the upper right corner, I had my starbucks drink so i was good!! I didn't know the horse was so good with the mouse!!! LOL!! That should be an advertisement for Apple..
Anyway... If it takes me a long time to blog again, you know the horse was online!
Here are some pics that Sammie drew.. I just love kid art!! ( maybe that is why i love teaching kindergarten..) I enjoy when a kid explains their work and then the ah-ha moment sets in and you can totally see what they meant.

This is her jumping over a fence riding on Joey. I love how his legs show the motion and that she has her helmet on! I just thought it was so cute. The next one I love too because she drew Joey's head facing forward and she is standing behind him grooming him. I thought the perspective was pretty good. My aunt is an artist and she says Sammie draws really well and has a good eye for detail. Sammie says she wants to be a horse rider and an artist so this combines both of her loves.

Today is Tuesday and on Tuesday nights I have been doing this. No, this is not my real class but it is the real music. I really like the music and have been meeting some friends there and having fun. Thanks Erica for posting our favorite songs!!!

This past Saturday Christine, her boys, and I all walked for Autism at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It was a nice day and we were glad to participate in this event for such a good cause. I raised $125 and Christine raised about $1700 to go towards Autism research. There were 10,000 people expected but it turned out that there were 20,000 people there.. Thank goodness Christine's excellent navigating got us there and back quickly. :)

Here is my newest Sammie story.. We came home from shopping to find the house really, really cold. ( Daddy likes the A/C at Arctic temperatures.) I immediately said "EEEKKK it is FREEEZING in this house" to which Sammie replied.. "Mom, Daddy has to have it cold or he will explode!" I literally laughed out loud.. That was a really funny statement coming from her.
I think i might have to agree with her!! He probably would explode from all the hot air!!! LOL!

Happy Earf Day

Happy Earf Day! ( that's how Sammie says it) She also told me that the grass is the Earf's hair and that we have to take care of it. We wore green today and talked about how to help the Earth and we are wishing you a happy Earf day too.
