Exciting things!!

Sammie learned how to ride her bike today. It has been a long process with training wheels on and off several times. She hasn't had much interest in learning. She loves to ride horses but is afraid of riding a bike.. (until now) She finally decided to try it and it took me running
alongside her yesterday ( feeling frustrated) to this.... today!!! In 1 day, she can do it all by herself!!!
We are so proud of her!

A few other exciting things to share. I made this page and it won 2nd place in a layout contest. Ironically, I made this page before Sammie learned to ride her bike ( notice the training wheels)

Sammie lost tooth #8. It had been wiggly for a while and she asked her last year's teacher to pull it and she did!! EEWWW I got a text of a happy little girl and a big hole in her mouth! She was so excited but, yucko!!

Here are the cupcakes we made for pony club! I thought of the idea and was quite proud of my domestic-ness!! Ha!! It is supposed to be green grass, a horse stall ( pretzels) and the plastic horse in the stall. I even found horse cupcake wrappers!! ( the horse is on the bottom of the wrapper, not in the photo but I couldn't believe they existed!!!

That's all for now!!

Please help!

Here's a simple way you can help the countless victims of Japan. If you are crafty, then you can go over to scrap it forward, make a cute card to send with your socks, and possibly win a prize. Either way, you are doing something good to help those in need and it is easy to do!! Here are my cute socks and a couple of cards which are going out in the mail tomorrow. Please join in and help Japan. :)

Leprechaun Trap

Well, I started a different post and haven't finished it yet but in the meantime, this one is more timely! This is the leprechaun trap Sammie designed for her school project. All of the kids in her class made one and they each got to share how it works and set it up by their desks. **NOTE** Scrapbook supplies come in handy for school projects!! We used scrapbook paper, glue dots, glue lines, zip dry, glimmer mist, making memories paint, buttons and bling!! :)
Of course it is a barn!!! The leprechaun walks through the "clover patch" to pet the horses and then he tries to take the gold. There is a sign that says "Do not pet the ponys". Those fellas are tricky and don't obey signs.

He gets close and then he falls through the trap door right in front of the horses.

Here is a pic of the top of the trap and the rainbow roof.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Oh and if you are "feeling lucky" stop by
Scrap it Forward and play along on our "Lucky" challenge. 3 winners will be chosen and the prize is super cute! Hurry up, it is ending soon!!

Happy Birthday Sammie!

Happy 7th Birthday!
I got this idea from Layle Koncar to put wrapping paper on the birthday kid's bedroom door and then decorate with favorite surprises. Sammie loves it and here is this year's door. She got some horse stickers, skittles, a ring pop, some Bella Sara cards which were taken off immediately, and $7.00.

Sam, I can't believe you are 7 years old! You are getting so grown up. You are reading and writing so well now, and I am so proud of you! It is amazing to see the lightbulb go on and watch you read and write everything you can!!! :)

We started your birthday with breakfast in bed. You got the idea from your friend Hayley who has family from Sweden and that's what they do. You loved eating like a queen in your bed. It was fun. We played cards too.
We went to see Gnomeo and Juliet which was a cute movie.
It was a fun filled weekend with a 2 dinners out. :) Spaghetti factory and Hibachi steak house.
(your new favorite place and my already favorite place!)
You said it was your best birthday ever!!!

7 important things about Sammie at age 7

2. Loves to play on my computer. ( bella sara, and also knows how to search for horse things on the internet)
3. Sweet and loving personality. ( very kind and thoughtful)
4. Loves mac and cheese and rotisserie chicken
5. Loves animals
6. Loves to draw
7. Great at math.

"Wonderful, Fabulous, Lovely!"

That is what Sammie said after seeing Cavalia, the Cirque Du Soleil show today. She absolutely loved it and so did I! It was truly amazing. The horses are free and playful and the acts are beautiful, artistic and poetic!

Some of the acts had riders and acrobats!

I am so glad we got to see this show. When we were in Vegas a few years ago, I saw signs for it and thought it was strictly a "Vegas show" and when we got home I realized it was just here and we missed it. I really wanted to take her to see it and was so happy when I found out it was returning to California. Perfect timing too, right before her birthday!!! What a way to spend the day!!
