KWIK E MART and the ADVENTUREDOME

So here we are at the "KWIK E MART" in Las Vegas. It is a regular "7-Eleven" transformed for the upcoming Simpson's movie. The "7-Eleven" stores had to apply for this and only 11 "Kwik E. Marts" exist across the USA! This one is right in my parent's backyard. We stopped there on our way home, so I could take pictures ( duh, i am a scrapbooker) and so Sammie could have a "Squishee" and a doughnut. Inside there are many Simpson characters and they sell cookies shaped like Marge, Bart, Lisa, Homer. They sell Krustie O's cereal and you can go behind the counter and get your photograph with "Apu" the owner (as in the cartoon). The store is only staying like that for a few weeks and then it goes back to normal. It was a lot of fun. Many people were stopping there just to check it out and to take pictures.

We also went to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus with "Grandma". There were several kiddie rides that Sammie could go on by herself. (we rode a few with her) She had a great time and wanted to ride again and again. She loved the little rollercoaster train. She rode in front, and in back and everywhere in between. Each car has a video camera so they tape your ride as you go. (of course we had to buy the DVD for $20, thanks grandma!)

LOVED CHA!

Posted by Picasa

We had a great time at CHA! I have a ton of pics and could only share a few of my favorites. It was so much fun to see all the new products and do the make and takes. I got to meet Tim Holtz and Heidi Grace. There are a few pics of our group, Christine, Jennifer, Karen, Echo and I as well as a few of me doing my silly stuff I do. I stopped at a booth selling feathers and boas and they gave me a purple ostrich feather thingy for my hair. Christine took my picture in front of all the boas and then said, "Oh My God, you look like a PEACOCK!" I have to say, it is true!! Christine and Jennifer laughed at me about the ostrich feather but I said, it is my lucky purple feather, watch, I will win a prize and guess what??? I sure did! I won the Lemonade Cookie Cutter font at the Quickutz booth. I was soooo excited!
We took the train downtown at night and went to Geno's East for the famous Chicago Pizza to celebrate Christine and Jennifer's birthdays! Thank you Karen and the Red Bee! It was yummy! Afterwards we walked around the city. The train ride was quite an experience! What a "crazy train". I had so much fun hanging out with the DT gals. We had a nice room at The Renaissance Suites and were close to the convention center. The exhibit hall was HUGE. We were there for 3 full days and still didn't see everything! I am so glad I was able to go though, what a fun girl's trip! I stayed at my mom and dad's house in Vegas when we got back. I'll post some pics of our adventures there. Bye bye for now!

More fun at CHA

We're Back!

Here we are at the lifeboat drill. Those life vests are quite uncomfortable to wear. We had a great time aboard the Paradise! The weather was nice most of the time and we sure packed a lot of activities into a short trip. Sammie LOVED being on the boat. The food was wonderful and all of the activities on the ship were fantastic too! I was first place in the finals in a blackjack tournament but didn't win in the end. Boo hoo. It was for $500. We saw 2 excellent "Vegas style" shows and 2 hilarious comedy shows. We met some really nice people at our dinner table which was enjoyable. Sammie spent some time at Camp Carnival for kids. She loved it. They had all kinds of toys, games, art projects and movies and snacks. They made memory books, did "build a bear", colored t-shirts, and a canvas backpack. On Saturday we went to Ensenada to a place called "La Bufadora" which means "blowhole" in Spanish. There are only 3 natural blowholes in the world. (a cliff where water splashes up in between causing a huge poof of water high up into the air) There is one in Hawaii, Austrailia and Ensenada. Sammie really loved watching the water splash up into the air. We ate authentic "churros" and shopped at the marketplace. That night was formal night so we all got dressed up fancy. On Sunday we layed out by the pool but it was a little overcast so it made the pool water very cold. Sammie and Brad went in but not me. I just relaxed on a lounge chair! My mom and dad were with us too and they had a great time as well. Sammie performed in the Camp Carnival talent show. She was the youngest performer. She sang the "ABC"'s which was hilarious and we couldn't get the microphone out of her hands! ( Just like her great grandfather, and her namesake, "Sam") She did an encore performance! We were all laughing hysterically!
The only bummer was after we got home, I was sick. I wore a seasickness patch to avoid getting woozy on the boat and when i got home and removed the patch, that's what happened! My equilibrium was off and i felt like i was still rocking for like 3 days.. uggghhh I have used that patch before and never had a problem, not to mention that I grew up having boats as a kid but I guess it is old age... boo hooo hooo..
I think I am over it all now and looking forward to my next trip to CHA in Chicago!
YIPPEE.. I am so excited! Bye for now!

Bon Voyage!

Okay so tomorrow, (well actually today, Friday, since it is after MIDNIGHT) we're off! I thought I'd have more time to write but it is late and I am still PACKING! I just took a quick break to play around on the computer. So this will be short and sweet and I'll post some fantastic pics when I return!
Have a great weekend!

5 More Days!

Carnival Cruise Lines

Here is a picture of the Paradise, (click link above) the boat we are taking on a cruise to Ensenada! I am so excited to go! I LOVE cruises! This is Sammie's first trip on "a big boat" and she is looking forward to it as well. Should be a fun time!
Let's see..what else has been going on?? We went to Disneyland again on Thursday night, this time to watch the fireworks. What a spectacular show!! My pictures didn't turn out very well so I can't do it justice but the fireworks are all synchronized to music and laser lights. It is really cool to see it in person right in fron of the castle!
Friday we went to see Ratatouille. Or as Sammie calls it "Rattoo-ees" It was a cute movie, a little long and not quite for kids because of all the "adult humor" but very enjoyable.
My summer project is now in the works. We are getting all of our closets redone and the garage too. I had a designer from Closet World at my house yesterday for almost 14 hours!!! She did a very thorough job and drew very detailled plans of each closet, etc. so it will be a major job to do but i will be sooo happy when it is done and organized! They wont' start until the end of the month which gives us some time to begin to go through stuff and thin out what we dont need. No small task!!
Anyway.. I will post again before I go on my cruise but I am going to go now and get some things done! Toodles!
