Balboa Bars are Yummy!

Happy Mother's Day!
So I am just a little behind on posting these pics but couldn't resist.
We went to the beach on Mother's Day. We had a great time. Sammie had an even better time.
She loved the ocean and picked up every shell that she could find to put in her blue bucket.
This was her first time since last year and she could enjoy it more now that she is 3. Brad took her down to the water. It was very cold and she didn't want to touch it at first. She got her courage and walked along the shore when suddenly a big wave came up and she fell down into the shallow water and sand. She got sand in her hair, and water in her mouth. She came running over to me and said, " Mommy, I drinked the beach!". I just cracked up! She is so funny!
We walked over to Balboa Island and got ice cream. Sammie ate every bit of her Balboa bar. She even shared some with the pigeons. (See pics above)She spotted the carousel and so she rode that a few times. The weather was great. Nice and breezy.
Sammie and Brad got me a starbucks card and a brighton necklace, bracelet and earrings set. I have been wanting this set for a long time so I was so excited!

It's been 1 month

Yikes.... It has been a whole month since I last posted.. Where does time go?? Does anyone read my blog anyway? If you do, please let me know and I'll try to be better about updating this more often! If not, then I guess I am doing it for my own fun and so I can better recall all I do in my days since I don't seem to remember much lately!

Let's see... I sure keep busy. I went to the Discovery Science Center today with my friend Donna and our kids. It was fun. The Sesame Street Exhibit is very cute! We enjoyed shopping with play food, and seeing how our bodies work. The dinosaurs were also very neat! Sammie found a triceratops to ride. It was a good way to spend such a hot day.

The next pic is of Sammie at Disneyland... I am still learning how to insert pictures so I was practicing. We haven't been to Disneyland in a month. We were going to go today but it is tooo HOT! The science center was a much better choice so we could be inside!

I went scrapbooking on Saturday at the Red Bee for National Scrapbook day. I didn't get a lot of pages done but sure had fun. I only did 2 layouts but I really like them. ( I will share a pic) On Sunday I demonstrated at the store on things to do with chipboard. It was fun too. I am going to try to go scrapbooking again this weekend if I can. Sammie has a birthday party in the afternoon so maybe after that.

I was sick a few weeks ago right when we got home from Vegas. That was bad... I had a bad stomach flu and was sick for several days. I missed 2 days of work and I am still trying to catch up on everything I neglected while I was sick. bummer!

I did the walk for Autism and had a nice time. It was a hot day but good for me to walk and have some fun with Christine, her mother in law Janet, and the kids. I was proud of myself when I finished. We raised lots of money for Autism research. We had a nice lunch afterwards at Red Robin and snuck in a visit to Scrappin Good Times. Tee hee hee,... I LOVE buying scrappy stuff! It makes me so happy!

I guess this is going to be a long post to make up for lost time.. Echo tagged me with 7 random things about myself.. so here they are

1. I laugh at my own jokes.. I am silly and giggly and I think the same things are funny all the time ( like putting balls over my eyes) and I laugh about it when not many others do. ( lol right now)

2. I can hang a spoon on my nose. Any kind of spoon. My dad can do it too!

3. I am named after my dad's mom Ida, and my mom's grandma Rae ( Illyse Rae)

4. I am knock-kneed.

5. I was a cheerleader in high-school when Brad played baseball/basketball and we didn't know each other. ( we went to different schools but were at the games at the same time)

6. My first car was a Plymouth Champ and my 2nd car was a brand new RED Fiero. I can drive a stick shift.

7. I absolutely REFUSE to eat vegetables because I dont like the texture.. yes, weird I know but eeeeewwwww.

How's that for random???

Okay, on to more random stuff!

Hi friends,
What a busy week I have had. My parents were in town and we were on the go. We went to Chuck E. Cheese, (celebrated my dad's b-day), Irvine Park to ride horseys, and Disneyland. I squeezed in report cards all weekend whenever I could, then I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Very EXHAUSTING! My 2nd graders were so wild the past few days. They must have Spring Fever as much as I do! I am officially on Spring Break and am soooo excited! I scrapped on Friday night at the Bee with Christine and chatted with Echo too. I met a nice gal who was beading at the table nearby and she just happens to be a hairdresser so she is going to do my hair next week. Yippee! It is in desparate need of some color and a trim. I always feel so much better when my hair is freshly done!

Today I went shoppping and some amazing things happened! My daughter Sammie is obsessed with horses and ponies. Well, I was at Target and there all by itself was a "My Little Pony" Easter Basket. I wanted one last year and didn't get it and then looked for it this year and never saw it until today! There it was, just glowing at me so I grabbed it! She will be soooooo happy! I will post a pic soon, now that I figured it out how to do it!

My shopping adventures didn't end there. I went to the mall and was waiting at the makeup counter at Nordstrom (which was taking a long time) so I went upstairs instead and on the escalator was a lady with her young daughter and they both had stuffed horses in their hands. I asked where they got them and she said "right here". I grabbed one and started talking to the mom. She said her daughter is horse obsessed too and takes riding lessons with a great lady so she is going to get the number for me. So I can sign Sammie up! How cool is that?? Anyway.. I took the adorable horse to be gift wrapped. When I came out of Customer Service, (right in the children's section) there was a knit dress with horses all over it. UNBELIEVABLE! But the craziest part is that it was the ONLY ONE and Sammie's size! I just HAD to get it. I can't wait to give it to her and watch her open it! She will LOVE it and I will LOVE the face when she sees it. I love that kid! She makes me laugh and appreciate life everyday! I am so lucky, especially today!

Well, I have tried and tried to add photos to my blog and have not had any luck until now... this was the first photo I could find and so appropriate! I do this all the time with whatever I can find and whenever I get the chance and the best part is I think it is funny! Yes, I am a silly girl!
